Extreme Makeover: Downtown W-S Company Hatch lends a big hand to Nashville flood relief

Hatch, a downtown Winston-Salem company, located in the Winston Tower, was chosen as the primary supplier of early childhood materials and technology for the rebuild of four flood-damaged preschool classrooms and an indoor play area for The Lighthouse School in Nashville, TN.

After the devastating 500 year flood on May 1, 2010, much of “Music City” was left under water. At the center of the tragedy was The Lighthouse School, operated by the Sweatt family. Although eight of their buildings were damaged beyond repair in the storms, the Sweatts provided shelter, food, water, clothing, counseling and myriad social and financial services to the community recovery effort. A beacon of hope to a shattered community, Lighthouse lived up to its name. Now the Nashville community, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the HATCH team have joined forces to rebuild the Lighthouse School, saving it from being closed.

The debut of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is this Sunday, November 14 at 8PM on ABC.
