Farmers market to open at Old Salem commencing May 12, 2012

Old Salem Museum & Gardens is pleased to announce the launch of the Old Salem Cobblestone Farmers Market, a program of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. The market will open on Saturday morning, May 12 in the historic district of Old Salem and will run through November 19. Market hours will be 9 am until noon on Saturdays.

The Old Salem Cobblestone Farmers Market is Winston-Salem’s first Saturday morning producers only farmers market. It is strategically placed in Old Salem, the heart of our city, where the tradition of fresh, local farm products brought into town began over 200 years ago. Cash and check are the principle methods of payment with at least one vendor accepting credit card via the Smartphone App Square. The market will feature vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, breads, coffee, plants and much more.
