Bring Canned Goods to Rock the Block This Friday, Sept. 18.

Rock the Block is almost here! Friday, Sept. 18th, Fourth St. will be transformed into the end-of-summer festival that you can not miss! Four stages, twelve bands, and 30,000 of your closest friends. Visit http://www.rocktheblockws.com/ for all the info.

Bring your food donations to Rock the Block to help the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC.
There will be three locations where you can drop off your non-perishable food donations.
1. 4th and Poplar streets beside the Kids Area
2. On Spruce Street behind the R&B Stage in Winston Square Park
3. At 4th and Trade streets by the Wine Tasting Cafe

Clyde Fitzgerald, executive director of the food bank, said the increased support is needed. “Our network of partner agencies tells us that the demand for food assistance from their clients is at an average 76% increase. And much of this startling increase is being driven by first time requestors."
