Update on Big Belly Solar Trash Can

The Winston-Salem Journal wrote a story on the new trash can that the Downtown Blog presented a little while ago. There are links to the previous blog posting and the news article below. As an update, the trash cans compact the trash using solar power and thus reducing the need for daily trash collection. Preliminary reports from the Sanitation Department have been positive. As the preliminary blog posting mentioned, these cans are a trial and will need to be evaluated by the city in the future.
