Murphy's Lunch changes names and ownership

Downtown businessman John A. Nikas, is the proud new owner of Murhphy's 2010. Mr. Nikas also is the long time owner of the Courtside Cafe.

Below is an excerpt from a small note to customers on the front window -

Beginning 01/01/2010 Murphy’s Lunch will become
Murphys 2010
Our mission will be to gently escort this wonderful culinary landmark of downtown Winston-Salem into the new decade. Much will stay the same, yet much will change. We hope to preserve the small town homey atmosphere that you are accustomed to while providing you with a fresh new selection and expanded menu.
Beginning January 11, 2010 look to see new items on our cafeteria line, and by February we should have a new menu of breakfast items as well as an expanded selection of sandwiches, subs, burgers, and salads.
