Lot's of good discussion at the Designing a Walk and Bike Friendly Community Meeting! If you missed it, you can watch a video recap of the meeting by clicking here.
"Cities and towns were originally built with compact centers so people could easily walk to their desired destinations. With the advent of the trolley car followed by the private automobile, our city designs started changing to emphasize motor vehicles, often completely overlooking the needs of pedestrians and bicyclists. Now as we seek greener and more sustainable transportation, walking and bicycling can once again play an important role in our transportation."
