One lane of Business 40 will be closed in each direction during the day on Thursday, March 17.
The outside lane heading eastbound will be closed between Main Street and Highway 52, and the outside lane heading westbound will be closed between Main Street and Peters Creek Parkway.
The closures will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
NCDOT officials said they are performing routine maintenance on traffic cameras and must use cranes to reach them.
