Movies at the Greenspot Kick Off In Conjunction with First Friday Gallery Hop

The free outdoor film series, Movies at the Greenspot, returns for a third year starting on Friday, September 2. In collaboration with the Downtown Arts District Association, the kickoff film will be screened following the First Friday Gallery Hop. The film for this Friday will be Apollo 13- a tribute to our national heroes during this special DADA Labor Day Weekend Screening. The film will start after dark at “the Greenspot” lawn space, located at the corner of 6th & Liberty Streets.

Maximizing the cooler fall weather, the outdoor film series will continue during the first four Sunday evenings in October (October 2, 9, 16 & 23) at the Greenspot. Films for the 2011 season will be selected by “viewers’ choice.” Fans of the Movies at the Greenspot Facebook page will have a chance to vote for the movies they want to see. Each week has a specific theme and a short list of films to choose from. The voting will take place via the Movies at the Greenspot Facebook Page.

As with years past, the films are free to the public and beverages and light refreshments will be available for purchase onsite. Patrons are asked to bring a FM radio to transmit the audio of the movie, as well as a blanket or camp chair. A special thank you to IMG College, DADA, Whole Foods for their support of the 2011 season. Visit http://atthegreenspot.blogspot.com/ for more information.
