Encore, American Bistro (formerly Rana Loca)

On December 1, Rana Loca will become ENCORE, American Bistro. "The name Encore was chosen primarily because we are located next door to the Stevens Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of the theatre district, and we wanted a theatrical name that would celebrate the City of the Arts. Also, ENCORE signifies that we want our patrons to dine with us again and again. And while the name is changing, our mission remains the same, that is, to support local farms, and buy fresh produce grown locally", said Encore owner John Cahoon.

Encore will also feature a brand new menu. "Even though we have received great comments about our global Latin food, we wanted to capture more of a weekly repeat customer", said Cahoon. " The new menu will focus on American cuisine, with an emphasis on Southern dishes, but we'll still keep some of our Latin favorites as well".

Encore will remain downtown at 411 West Fourth, and will retain its staff, including award winning Chef Mike Millan. "Chef Mike is an exceptional chef. This new menu will allow him to continue to showcase his talents ", said Cahoon.

Encore will continue to offer patio seating as well as inside dining, and a late night bar. Additionally, reservations can be made for Encore's upstairs dining room, which accommodates private meetings and parties. Encore Jazz night is every Wednesday, and there's also music on the weekends.
