The City of Winston-Salem, Department of Transportation, has hired the local downtown Traffic Engineering Firm, Davenport Engineering with conducting a Downtown Street Study.

Here are some of the positions that the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership has requested, which are components of the 2013 Downtown Plan:

Convert the following one-way pair streets from one-way to two-way: 1st and 2nd Streets & Liberty & Main Streets

Conduct a comprehensive study to address parking, pedestrian crossings and access to downtown businesses

Provide measures to slow traffic on streets with Business I-40 access, and on First and Second Streets

Provide clear directional signs for crossings around Business I-40
-
Provide pedestrian and bike accommodations around Business I-40
