2011 Rock the Block Set for Saturday, September 17 on Fourth Street

Winston-Salem’s biggest end-of-summer street party returns, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in downtown Winston-Salem. But wait, there is more…

This year, you can kick off the fun on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Civic Plaza for a 5K run to benefit United Way. Not a runner? Come on out anyway, there will be food, drinks and a live band to enjoy.

On Saturday, we will have all the favorites back. The Kids Zone will again be in the Benton Convention Center. It will be on the main level, North Main Hall. All the inflatables will be back. Kids can play as much as they like for just $2. There will be an exciting new addition in the Kids Zone, a contemporary Christian stage with live bands hosted by WBFJ Radio. The concert is free.

Rock the Block will offer free music on four stages presenting Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Beach, Smooth Jazz and the very popular Rock This! teen battle of the bands.

The BMX Bike show, fire dancers, craft show, street performances and food and merchandise vendors will fill the streets once again.

Be sure to check out other details of the event by visiting www.rocktheblockws.com.
