BOOKMARKS 2011 will take place Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10am- 5pm in the Arts District of downtown Winston-Salem (along Trade Street). This festival of Books is an annual free-to-the-public event that focuses on both youth and adult literacy. Novice writers and readers of all ages are inspired by and learn from authors, illustrators, storytellers and chefs through readings, workshops, panel discussions, cooking demonstrations, and creative and interactive activities for children and teens. In partnership with community organizations, BOOKMARKS Festival of Books features live entertainment, a variety of food vendors and reading-related exhibitors.
